Rescue Organisation Ireland – Trauma
I am an Emergency Medical Technician registered with the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council in Ireland.
I have been involved in the provision of pre-hospital emergency care for 25 years and is a qualified instructor in pre-hospital emergency medicine and Road Traffic Collision Extrication. I have been instrumental in the inception and delivery of training courses for many organisations in the area of emergency medicine and vehicle extrication.
I am a director and incident commander with Motorsport Rescue Services which is a dedicated voluntary medical and extrication team. I have competed at trauma and extrication challenges with Motorsport Rescue Services and in 2015 we were the first non professional service to compete at the World Rescue Challenge in Lisbon.
I am now treasurer for Rescue Organisation Ireland and have implemented CPC training days for all emergency services in Ireland.
It is an incredible honour to be asked to assess at the Trauma Challenge in Cape Town and I am very excited to meet all the teams. It is such a great experience and I have made many friends from all over the world. Sharing knowledge and skills is what underpins the World Rescue Challenge.
